Tree Treasure No. 16: Nashville, Country Roots and the Music That Raised Us

In 2019, Dave and I took our first trip to Nashville, Tennessee… and we were hooked immediately.
We’ve loved country music for over five decades, so being in a city where so many of the roots of that music live felt special in a way that’s hard to explain unless you’re a music lover. Add in great barbecue (Dave’s love language 😄), and it quickly became one of our favorite trips.
Walking through places like the Ryman Auditorium and the Grand Ole Opry was honestly emotional. So much history. So many voices. So many stories layered into those walls. You could almost feel the generations of artists who stood on those stages before us.

This ornament brings all of that back. The music we grew up with. The trip we finally took together. The feeling of standing in a place that shaped a soundtrack of our lives.

It’s funny how one ornament can hold an entire vacation, decades of music, and a shared love that’s been playing in the background of our marriage all along.

Have you ever visited a place that felt like it connected you to something you’ve loved your whole life?
If you enjoy nostalgic holiday stories, I’m also sharing my Christmas memories in a new series called Christmas Stories Throughout the Years.
