Tree Treasure No. 15: The Year Laughter Was The Best Gift

My family has loved Jeff Dunham’s characters and humor since the very beginning. Laughter has always been a big part of our house. Christmas 2009, this gift felt just right.

That year, I bought Bobby and Dave tickets to see Jeff Dunham live. Along with the tickets, I gave them each their favorite character doll, a blanket, and these ornaments that still hang on our tree today.

Experiences have always mattered more than things in our family. Trips. Shows. Moments you talk about long after the wrapping paper is gone. Seeing Jeff Dunham live was absolutely one of those moments and yes, they laughed… a lot. Pun fully intended.

Dave and I went to see Jeff again in 2014, and I remember loving how Dave kept circling back to stories from that original Christmas gift with Bobby. Same comedian. Different season of life. Same laughter.

That’s what I love about these ornaments. They don’t just represent a performer or a joke. They represent time together, shared humor, and memories that grew as our family did.

Every time I hang these on the tree, I’m reminded that the best gifts are the ones that create stories we keep telling.

What experience gift do you still smile about years later?
If you enjoy nostalgic holiday stories, I’m also sharing my Christmas memories in a new series called Christmas Stories Throughout the Years.
