Before We Turn the Page: A Few Moments I’ll Carry Forward

When I look back on this year, I don’t see one defining moment.

Midlife couples enjoying the port of call of Nassau on a cruise to the Bahamas together.

I see a series of shifts… some joyful, some stretching but all meaningful.

There were changes that expanded my world in unexpected ways, moments that reminded me how deeply connected we are even across distance and seasons that slowed life down enough to make room for healing and presence.

This was a year of learning how to hold joy and longing in so many ways at the same time.

Of discovering that growth doesn’t always come loudly. Sometimes it arrives through new conversations, shared rooms and friendships that feel like they were meant to find you right when they did.

It was also a year that invited more stillness. More togetherness at home. A reminder that tending to the people you love and letting life move at a gentler pace, can be just as meaningful as moving forward.

Before we turn the page, I want to honor all of it.

These moments mattered: the big life changes, the quiet days that followed, the ways I stretched personally and the ways I was asked to simply be present. They shaped how I see this next chapter and grounded me more deeply in what truly matters.

What I’m carrying forward isn’t just memory, it’s definitely perspective.

A deeper appreciation for connection, for growth that happens in community and for the gift of time spent close to home when it’s needed most.

Before we turn the page, I don’t want to rush past this year. Being still doesn’t come naturally to me. I have to make a conscious effort to reflect. Doing so makes me realize what lessons were learned and …

that is changed me and I’m grateful for the ways it did.

I’m carrying these moments forward with gratitude as the next chapter begins.
