Before We Turn The Page

Before We Turn The Page

There’s something about this space between Christmas and the New Year that always feels different.

The noise quiets down. The calendar loosens its grip on time. And for a moment, there’s room to breathe.

Before we turn the page, I don’t want to rush past this year, even the hard parts. Especially not the parts that shaped me in ways I didn’t see coming at the time.

This isn’t a recap meant to impress. It’s not a list of accomplishments or resolutions. It’s simply a pause.

A chance to look back honestly and gently at what this year held. Some moments were joyful and easy to celebrate.

Others were quieter, lessons learned quietly in the ways that feel very stressful at the time. Pressure makes diamonds right? Some days are diamonds. Some days are stones.

There were days that stretched me, days that softened me and days that reminded me how much I value the simple, ordinary things. And how much I miss them and wish I had Doc Brown’s time machine.

Before we turn the page, I want to remember:

  • What mattered
  • What challenged me
  • What I’m proud of
  • What I’m ready to leave behind

Over the next few days, I’ll be sharing reflections from this year; lessons learned, moments that stayed with me, and a few thoughts I’m carrying forward as the calendar changes.

Not as a declaration.

Not as a checklist.

Just as a way of honoring the season we’re in.

If you find yourself feeling reflective too, you’re not behind.

You’re not late.

You’re right where you’re supposed to be.

Before we turn the page… let’s pause here for a moment.

However you’re closing out this year, I hope you give yourself permission to do it slowly.
