Tree Treasure No. 21: I Love Lucy – A Tradition That Spans Generations

I was raised on I Love Lucy. I’ve loved Lucy for as long as I can remember. The timing. The physical comedy. The expressions. She felt like family long before I understood what comfort TV even was.
My daughter grew up loving Lucy too. She loved her so much that she dressed up as Vitameatavegamin Lucy for Halloween… in college. Her room was covered in metal Lucy tins that happily hang in my gym now.

For decades, a huge collection of I Love Lucy ornaments hung on our tree. When she got married, she took half of them with her for her own tree. As it should be.
I Love Lucy is one of those shows we always come back to. A comfort show. Familiar. Reliable. Guaranteed laughs no matter how many times you’ve seen the episode.
Some things never lose their magic. Lucy is one of them.
What’s your go-to comfort show when you just need something familiar?
If you enjoy nostalgic holiday stories, I’m also sharing my Christmas memories in a new series called Christmas Stories Throughout the Years.
