Tree Treasure No. 12: Sunday Nights & Disney Magic

Do you remember hurrying through Sunday dinner just to make it in time for a favorite show?

Growing up, Sunday nights were pure magic for me. We would finish dinner, wash dishes, make sure homework was done, and then gather around the TV for The Wonderful World of Disney. No recording. No streaming. If you missed it, you missed it.

This ornament of Mickey and Minnie watching TV takes me right back to those cozy nights with my mom. Sometimes my dad joined too, but that is a story for another day. When the show stopped airing weekly in 1983, it felt like the end of a little tradition I loved… but the memories stayed.

When my kids were young, we watched it whenever it popped back on TV. Sharing something from my own childhood with them always felt special.

This little ornament brings all of that rushing back every time Dave pushes the button and played it. (If you know Dave, he loves all the things that make sound)

What was the show you absolutely had to be in front of the TV for when you were growing up?

If you enjoy nostalgic holiday stories, I’m also sharing my Christmas memories in a new series called Christmas Stories Throughout the Years.
