Tree Treasure No. 9: I Have Always Been A Memory Keeper

This little ornament makes me smile every time I see it because it represents a huge passion of mine. Crafting has always been my happy place and for a few decades I was completely immersed in scrapbooking. I finished more than twenty full size twelve by twelve albums plus so many smaller ones. I even had my own scrapbook room filled with more supplies than I probably want to admit.
I was scrapbooking long before it became the popular thing to do. I think that passion came from my grandfather. He documented his business in the fifties and sixties with photos and handwritten stories. That love for preserving memories runs deep in our family.
I went to scrapbook retreats. I stopped at scrapbook stores everywhere we traveled. I shared the hobby with my mom. I even went to Creating Keepsakes University and made so many friends who loved memory keeping as much as I did.
Most of my layouts are digital today but the heart behind it has not changed one bit. I am a memory keeper through and through. Capturing the moments that tell our story is part of my soul and always will be.
Are you someone who loves recording memories or looking back through old photos?
If you enjoy nostalgic holiday stories, I’m also sharing my Christmas memories in a new series called Christmas Stories Throughout the Years.
