Tree Treasure No. 4: A Legacy in Red and Gold

This ornament is one of the most meaningful sports memories on our tree. Dave has been a San Francisco 49ers fan for more than five decades. When Levi’s Stadium opened in 2014, he and our son Bobby went to a game together during the inaugural season. It was a true bucket list moment for both of them.
Generations of love for the same team all wrapped up in one unforgettable day. I picked up this ornament for each of them so they would always have something to remember it by.
We have a few 49ers ornaments on the tree, but this one will always mean the most. Some ornaments represent a memory and some represent a legacy. This one holds both.
Do you have any ornaments on your tree that mark a once in a lifetime moment?
If you enjoy nostalgic holiday stories, I’m also sharing my Christmas memories in a new series called Christmas Stories Throughout the Years.
